Someone forgot to tell the weather man to not make it so damn hot the first day after a week or so of rainy days. I imagined that is what Hell feels like… walking two miles one way to school in the heat of 7:45am… geez, I thought I was gonna f’n diiiie!
The walk home was no walk in the park, let me tell you! By 2:30pm when I finally left school, it was (I swear) near 100 with the heat index (what’s that? No f’n clue). Without the heat index, it was probably more like 90.
Didn’t help that some of the buildings at Rose State are like an icebox… which feels good when you’re coming in from the humid and hot weather, but once you’ve been there a while, you’re seriously wishing for that big jacket you put away as it was just getting warm out. I thought I was going to catch a nasty cold between the Engineering and Technology Building and the Library (aka the Learning Resource Center, aka LRC). Once you leave the ET building, you’re outside until you get to the LRC door.
I know that because of computers and other electronical goodies, they have to keep the temps chilly (even in the wintertime!), but c’mon now… when my glasses fog up because it’s so f’n cold inside and so f’n hot outside, I know that the humidity is killer….
And I get home feeling like I’ve been put thru the ringer…
Now I hear they’re calling for severe weather? Severe weather (for those of you outside Tornado Alley) equals Tornadoes a good deal of the time.
I really need to get my car fixed… this is ridiculous! I may be healthy, as Larry says, because of all the walking, but that won’t mean a whole hell of a lot if I’m too exhausted to enjoy it.

I hate the nickname Scott has given himself… “Scooter”. I asked him if people at school really call him that and he says that some do. It sounds just as stupid IMHO on Scott as it does with “Scooter” Libby. I didn’t name my kid “Scooter”, dammit! I named him Scott. It’s a perfectly nice name.
I guess it could be worse. He could be “Scotty”. Ewwww!

For the first time since I’ve lived in Oklahoma, all of 4 1/2 years now, I saw fireflies! I haven’t seen fireflies since I left Virginia in 1999. Fireflies bring back some good memories.
That’s all from where I sit.
