More bike pics and smiles (or the lack thereof) August 2, 2007
Jeff still doesn’t have a helmet (I thought the seller threw one in with the bike, but I was mistaken), but is planning to get one in the very near future. He still can’t ride the bike yet, but he’s looking into that, too.
The kick start thing on the bike doesn’t work, so Jeff called this place in Shawnee to see if they could fix it. Jeff was told that they couldn’t fix it simply because the bike is so old (’71 Honda Scrambler 350), that they don’t have or can’t get the parts. Wonder if the “Pull Apart Man” has motorcycle parts?
The bike is heavy! I never really realized that they were heavy. But, I guess it makes sense.

And, what IS it with these kids of mine that they don’t want to smile? Notice Jeff’s “geez, Mom, do ya have to take my picture, too?” expression. All four of them are like that! I don’t get it.
When we went to dinner Tuesday for Mom’s birthday, I tried to take a picture of Marc’s new braces, and he wouldn’t smile for me. Marc used to smile a lot when he was younger, but I guess it’s a right of passage for my boys to quit smiling in pictures. I certainly hope that they smiled for the group pics they had taken a few weeks ago. The last group pic of the four of them were taken over five years ago when Daniel turned 18. And they all smiled then (I think).
Maybe it’s genetic, I don’t know. I’ve noticed in recent pictures of their uncle (Jon’s older brother, Ron) that he doesn’t smile either. Why does everyone have to be so damn serious all the time?
Another mystery for the ages, I suppose.
That’s all from where I sit.
