Adventures in Midwest City… March 17, 2008
I did the one thing I didn’t want to do today… wait until the last day to take my Spanish Midterm. But, I did, and I think I did pretty well. I think it was the two hours I spent studying just before I went into the Testing Center in the library at school.
After I was done, my plan was to go to Wal Mart, and then go home. However, I didn’t know it, but I had just missed the bus going homeward. So, when the bus came from the other direction, I ran across the street to catch it. That way, I could ride the entire circuit thru Midwest City, pass the college, then get off at my usual stop in front of the Waffle House.
Then I had a thought. As the bus approached SE 15th Street and Air Depot, I decided to get off and have lunch. There are a lot of restaurants in that area, so I had lots of choices.
But, I went for the familiar and ended up at IHOP.
After having what had to be the largest omelette I’ve ever seen (I didn’t even finish half of it!), I went to CVS and got some stuff for the house, a makeup brush, and some throat drops. Then I called a cab.
I was on hold, waiting for them to answer for 6 minutes. Not two minutes after I hung up, the cab arrives! You could have knocked me over with a feather!
(My frustrations with the local cab company are well documented on this blog, and on Mi Vida Loca).
Around 4:30pm, I arrive home. I remember thinking that all I was going to do was take the midterm and come home. It was nice to have the time to be spontaneous for a change. I think it was good for me.
See what you’re missing, cowboy?
That’s all from where I sit.
