Ketchup: the “Whacked Out Weekend” edition

Sunday, 1 June 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been so busy that it seems that I don’t have time to do anything else but eat and sleep (little of the former…lots of the latter).

Okay, where to begin…

FRIDAY: Chaz picked me up around 11:45am to drive me up to UCO to attend the “Transfer Registration Central” seminar, where I’d learn all kinds of stuff about my new academic home for the next three years. First was a lecture about how UCOnnect works (which I already knew having played with it periodically since about late April or so); the requirements needed to graduate with a BA; attend a session with an Academic Advisor; and get my UCO I.D. card.

UCO has an “Office of First Year Experiences”, and that is who ran the seminar. And it turns out that I don’t need immunizations after all because I transfered from another Oklahoma college. That’s one less thing off my mind.

After it was over, it was about 3:30pm or so, and I didn’t want to call Chaz to come pick me up only to take me to Mom’s house, so I called Mom directly and asked if Jeff were home from work yet so he could come and pick me up. He wasn’t, so after some chit chatting with Mom for a few minutes, I suggested that I meet her at Denny’s (which is just down 2nd Street from campus). She drove to Denny’s and we had lunch before we went back to her house.

SATURDAY: I spent the night at Mom’s and hoped that Daniel would be able to take me home before he went to work, but he didn’t even get up until about 15 minutes before he had to leave for work. So, I ran errands in Mom’s van and dropped some stuff off at my apartment. I checked the messages on my home phone to learn that Chaz had called and left a message. I called him back and we talked for a few minutes, he told me that he’d call me Monday morning, then we hung up.

I headed back up to Mom’s and crashed on the couch in her living room to take a nap. Then Jeff came home from work and wanted to go to the mall. So I take him over to Quail Springs and he does his thing for an hour, and I walk around until I get tired, bored, or both. Then I head to the Food Court to wait for him.

The mall is much more fun if one actually has money to spend, which I don’t. It’s between semesters now, and I’m in my usual state of financial embarrassment. I won’t get any financial aid until at least August.

SUNDAY: I spend yet another night at Mom’s and get up way too early. Mom is usually an early riser, and she was up around 7am. She sent me to the store to get laundry detergent, gas for the van, and a sausage buscuit from MickeyD’s.

Most of Sunday was spend either running around on errands for Mom, or sleeping.

Finally, Daniel gets home from work around 11pm and brings me home. I swear, that boy drives like a freaking maniac!

I can’t believe it’s June already! Geez!

That’s all from where I sit.
