The rest of everything

Okay, so jury duty wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be. Got picked to be on a panel, but not a jury. No biggie. A bunch of us were dismissed, subject to be called back between now and mid July.

I had stayed over at Chaz’s Sunday night because he lived closer to the courthouse than I do. He lives so close that it took all of ten minutes to get there. I thought that was better than making him get up at the crack of dawn, drive all the way to Del City to get me, then drive to the courthouse. With gas prices the way they are now (an average nationwide of $4.00 a gallon!), all of that would have been stupid.

Sunday afternoon, Chaz and I went to Lake Thunderbird in Norman, though it took a great deal of effort to get there. Thunderbird is a HUGE lake! We didn’t get to see nearly enough of it.

Also on Sunday, Scott called me and said that he was having his birthday lunch at Ted’s Escondido, and that Tori and Dean would be by to pick me up.

After an hour, when no one had been by to get me, I called Scott’s cell phone to see when they were coming to get me. Seems they had to go home first, but were headed out my way.

Mom called me shortly after that to see when I was getting picked up and was I coming to her house first? No sooner after I hung up with Mom, Jeff called my cell phone to ask basically the same thing.

I finally get picked up and we went to Mom’s so I could drive her and Jeff in Mom’s van over to Ted’s. To make a long story short, a good time was had by all. I asked Dean if they could take me home because Chaz and I had plans for the day. No problem, he said.

Everyone (except me and Mom) are going to Florida this week. I’ve never been to Florida, and it looks like I won’t be going for a long, long time… if ever.
