The running of the bull****

Monday, 7 July 2008 · 1 Comment

I just want to roll my eyes whenever I hear people (ex hubby and ex bf mostly) spout off a load of BS. It’s as if they think I’m too stupid to get it, whatever “it” is.

Though I’ve noticed that the people who have been bugging me about paying on a closed Sears account from 1993 have stopped calling me. They were handing me a load of crap that I still owed them money. Even if I did owe the money, after 15 years with no contact (I wasn’t in hiding, so it’s not like they couldn’t find me if they really wanted to), that debt probably should have been written off. Because I’m sure as hell am not going to pay it. And, if you can’t send it in the mail so it will actually get here, or be bothered to send an email (as I was promised), then I can’t be bothered, either. Go bug my ex husband for the $1000 you say I owe.

The local post office did the same thing, the spouting of the BS. For eight days last month, I got no mail at all, not even junk mail. Then I get mail once last week, then Saturday and today, nothing. I’ll have to go out and talk to the guy tomorrow, because I would like to get my mail. It makes paying my bills so much easier if I actually have a bill to reference. And, this is AFTER I called the postal service to complain. Guess I’ll have to call them again tomorrow and tell them I HAVE NOT MOVED and am not planning to move until next month. I still wonder if someone submitted a change of address for me without my knowledge. Usually the postal service sends a card. But, if I’m not getting mail, then….

That’s all from where I sit.

Had to comment on this one: I live in MN. My partner and I are having the same problem, except we have no plans to move at all. All of a sudden, we’re getting almost no mail. Even our city bill which is always mailed on the first (elec. and water) isn’t here–and we live in a town of about 3000, with the billing office about 10 blocks from our house.

Good luck with USPS. When I called, I was told: “So, do you think we’re just keeping it? Where do you think your mail is going?” Gee, I didn’t know I had to personally track it down–I told him I didn’t care where it was going, but that in the future I would appreciate it if it showed up in my mailbox. Argh!

Thanks for letting me rant a bit! Hope you have more luck than I did!
