The latest reports are that Tropical Storm Gustav might not hit the New Orleans area, but the city and state governments are planning for evacuations anyway.
Gustav (who thinks up these names, anyway?) may become a hurricane (category 1: sustained winds of 74mph) as it ventures into the Gulf of Mexico, and many weather outlets have projected that it could hit the New Orleans area early next week.
Ironically enough, tomorrow is the 3rd anniversity of Katrina roaring ashore with her floods and devastation.
History cannot repeat itself. It would be the end of the city if it were to hit there with anything more than a category 3 hurricane.
That’s all from where I sit.
