Songs playing in my head… as if I’m not weird and bizarre enough!!

First up: “Iko Iko” by the Belle Stars (Rain Man soundtrack)–

This song is a helluva lot older than Rain Man…

Next: “F**k You” –Cee Lo Green (and yes this is the uncensored version)

And we’ll end with this: “Run”, a b-side by Disturbed

(You had to know there was a Disturbed song in there somewhere! LOL)

And that, dear readers, is going thru my head tonight…

  1. I have songs playing in my head most all the time. They are songs I hear on the radio or on a T.V. commercial. They can even be triggered by a thought. It’s usually a 3 to 5 second piece of a song. It plays in a loop over and over. The problem gets better when I am watching television or talking with someone. It can seem very distant or it can be blaring. I don’t know what caused it and I don’t know how to stop the problem. I take medication for anxiety. Here is my theory. This may be some sort of OCD thing. People who suffer with OCD respond well to SSRI’s such as prozac, zoloft and paxil. These anti-depressents raise the amount of serotonin in your brain. My anti-anxiety medicine ( klonopin ) may have depleted the serotonin levels in my brain. I would like to stop the klonopin to see if the songs stop but the Klonopin withdrawal is really rough. That being said just try not to worry about the songs. When your life is headed in a positive direction and you are happy the songs will stop. If it is a real problem try to talk and write about it as much as you can. Not only will you help yourself you will be helping others.
