I think I’ll just leave it like that

The previous post, that is. The one that just has a title and no text? Something happened between WordPress.com and my computer that wouldn’t allow me to post that particular entry in its entirety, so screw it!

It was basically about my frustrations with thois thing with my ears. It’s driving me crazy! I have to find a way around this before Monday so I can fully participate in this group project in Human Communications next week. I feel like I’m the weak link, and I don’t want to bring down the grades of the other 4 people in my group because I can’t hear.

I need to talk to Dean again and see what he suggests. Maybe the anti-biotic isn’t working the way he’d hoped it would. The only benefit I see is that my skin cleared up some! That’s a plus! But not the result I was hoping for.

I think I will take a nap now.

That’s all from where I sit.

Dear AT&T: did it have to take a freaking act of Congress

to just admit you screwed up my account? If you had done what I requested two months in a row, I wouldn’t have found myself in the position of reformatting my modem so I can get on the freakin’ internet!

Maybe YOU should pay ME to be your customer… because you sure came close to me telling you to go perform an anatomically impossible act upon your person.

48 hours, is, in my opinion, too long to have to wait for you to fix your mistake, then have the rep screw that up so badly that I ended up figuring it out for myself. Oh, and he hung up on me…

After all, I kind of need this service to do things with school. I paid my bill, so you should have fixed the problem  your reps messed up.

Oh, and there are plenty of people here in the United States who would gladly work one of those call center jobs, instead of shipping work to places like Mumbai.  I’m one of them.

Thank you.

I’ve caught another cold. Woke up this morning with a cough and a stuffy nose.

Damn.

Other things happened, but I’ll write about those later.

Maybe.

I’m plumb wore out…

Thursday night, Chaz picked me up to take me back to his place so we could make a 9am appointment on Friday. I also had to be at the Food Stamp office at 10:30am, but wasn’t able to make it, because of the appointment at 9am. This is why I was trying so hard to reschedule that appointment.

After numerous phone calls and leaving voice mails for my worker, her supervisor, and the supervisor’s supervisor, I heard not one word until Thursday when I thought I’d try one more time. This time, I got the assistant regional supervisor and actually talked to her. She was aware of my efforts to reschedule and said she’d have my worker call me that afternoon.

Of course, my worker didn’t call. So, I’ll try again on Monday and see how far I get.

After the 9am appointment, for which Chaz insisted I tag along for, we went to the store, the bank, then back to his place to have lunch and hang out. We watched a lot of TV, talked, fell asleep (okay, I fell asleep. I didn’t sleep well the night before), and had dinner before he brought me home about 9pm. I probably could have spent the night, but I’d put Chaz out enough for one day.

I’m still tired, though. I may take a nap later. Nothing will get done today, I’m afraid.

But, I’ll give it a try.

Everything’s comin’ at me…

and I’m not handling any of it very well at the moment.

I feel like the main attraction at the  “Watch Stef lose her ever lovin’ mind” show.

Between my health, my finances, and a couple of other things, I’ll be lucky to get thru with today without crying my eyes out in frustration.

And it’s only the 3rd day of 2008. If this is what is in store for me this year, then can we just skip ahead to 2009 already?

See Stef. See Stef get frustrated.

Stef needs a hug.

Seriously.

Speaking of stress…

I am SO DONE with the cab company in town.

For real, I am.

Again this morning, I called for a cab to come pick me up at a certain time, and that time came and went with no cab. I was late for workstudy again! When I finally got to school, I went into the lab and wrote an email to my supervisor asking if we can adjust my hours so that I can actually get here on time. I don’t want to be dropped from the workstudy program because I have to take cabs to get to school.

Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, I have no problem getting here by cab, because the same guy picks me up, on time (or within a couple of minutes either way), and gets me here. Tuesday and Thursdays, and any weeknight, it’s a crapshoot.

I was frustrated to the point of tears this morning! What was the friggin point of calling in at 7am to have a cab pick me up at 8:15am if there is no cab to do so? Couldn’t the dispatcher tell me this when I call in?

I even talked to a supervisor at the cab company this morning, but whether it did any good, I don’t know.

Tonight, it’s a bus trip to WalMart, then walking the rest of the way home. At any rate, I won’t be sitting out in front of the Admin Building waiting for a cab that takes its sweet time getting here.

I’m going to check into a yoga class for next semester. I can’t take all this stress.

I’m so sleepy…

so if this post makes no sense whatsoever, that’s why.

The day didn’t start out promising. I called the cab as soon as I woke up and asked to be picked up at 8:15am.

At 8:15, no cab. I call and am told that it’s “the first of the month” and that they’re running behind. Think they could have told me this when I called in at 6:55am?

At 8:30, no cab. I call my workstudy supervisor’s office and tell the receptionist that I’m running late, I’ll get there as soon as I can.

At 8:45, still no cab, and I’m getting really annoyed. I call the cab company back and am told that they’ll try to get one out to me soon. I asked if “time calls” (a request to be picked up at a certain time) took priority over those who call in wanting a cab when it got there, and I was told, yes. I then asked to be transfered to their customer service company. I get some guy’s voice mail, and I leave a message with my cell number and a request to call me back to discuss this issue. I’ve yet to hear from anyone.

At 9:00, I call workstudy back and say that I might not make it. At this point, I would be lucky if I got to my first class on time. I emailed my supervisor to let him know that I probably won’t be in.

At 9:20, the cab finally shows up, and the driver is someone I’ve ridden with before. I get to school and go to workstudy. I’m an hour late.

The rest of the day has been better so far.

I have really no homework in my Tues./Thurs. classes. Read the last three chapters in the first History of Life text and bone up on the stuff that will be on the first lecture test in two weeks. In Photograpy, finish shooting my depth of field assignment and be ready to develope film on Tuesday.

I do, however, have the rest of my math homework, and an outline due in Comp II. And sometime over the weekend, finish a video project.

My life, it’s never dull. Busy yes; dull, no. I need some good surprises. Not the kind that involve my car (that’s a whole other post *sigh*).

That’s all from where I sit.
